Hello! November has arrived.
Today’s blog, 【eBlog#49】, will be about my own take on the “ITON Theory.”
The press embargo has been lifted, and we’ve already made an official announcement, but on November 12, our company will be participating in an “Elementary School Career Education Program.” I understand the purpose of this program to be “helping elementary school students learn about various career paths early on and start designing their own life plans.”
In what I call a “knowledge-based society,” where we are expected to create something from nothing and bring new or added value, I believe the key is “ITON.” So, what exactly is “ITON”? Here’s a breakdown:
1. INPUT – Observing, listening, and learning
2. THINK – Thinking critically and independently
3. OUTPUT – Sharing ideas and participating in discussions or Q&A
4. NOTICE – Developing awareness and understanding
These four points may seem obvious, and I imagine many people might question, “What’s so special about that?” However, are we truly incorporating this process into our daily thought routines?
I believe that most people manage fairly well with steps (1) through (3), but how about step (4) NOTICE – understanding and awareness?
To foster this awareness, I’ve prepared a few “tricks.” I’ve tried these with high school students, but I’m curious about how elementary school students will react. I’m looking forward to seeing their responses.
I’ll be sure to update you again.
